Why European SUPER LEAGUE attracting Negative Responses?

Published

European-Super-League

News from Europe as Big clubs plan to setup their own European Super League, creating a massive disbalance of revenues in domestic circuit.

Big teams across Europe have officially presented their opinion of approval to organize a Super League of their own.

Football Associations like UEFA and FIFA voted majorly against the plan of making another league to keep footballers busy. But before clarifying the doubts, let’s just understand the scenario.

What is European Super League?

Big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Man City, Inter Milan, Juventus and etc, plans to organize a league of their own, naming it European Super League.

Although Bayern Munich, PSG didn’t take any step towards ESL.

In this league, 15 major teams will enjoy a permanent membership in the league; whereas they’ll plan to bring in 5 more teams on qualifying basis. Big teams will play against each other every season instead of waiting for years to face in UEFA leagues.

What is the reason behind ESL?

The Big clubs participate in Domestic leagues and Cup tournaments, and make a very minimum profit from the games.

In the games like Liverpool playing against Fulham, or Real Madrid playing against Elche, or Inter Milan playing against Fiorentina; clubs make very less amount of profit from selling broadcasting rights, commercial rights.

But what if clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Barcelona, Real Madrid meet each other TWICE every year in ESL; clubs will manage to earn more from TV and other rights.

Why Football fans show disapproval to European Super League

Football fans didn’t welcome the plan with positive regards, because it’ll end the value of Domestic leagues as well as UEFA leagues.

Clubs will earn a solid money of more than €300 Million each season, from participating in European Super League. There will certainly be no point of participating in Premier League, La Liga or even Serie A.

The new Super League will massively end the competition around Europe; and the RICH clubs will get RICHER, while POOR clubs will get POORER.
